Objective Pain Scale (OPS) for Postoperative Pain Assesment in children of 8 months to 13 years

Office of Population Censuses and Surveys (OPCS) - Disability
Staff-completed 6-page scale measuring severity of disability. 83 everyday tasks described in non-medical terms, grouped into 13 domains cover aspects of motor, physiological and psychological function (locomotion, dexterity, behaviour, continence, hearing etc). Checklist format with weighted severity scores. Intellectual functioning and consciousness are weighted according to the number of difficulties experienced from a list

One minute sit to stand
Patient-completed, staff scored functional test of sitting to standing. The number of times the patient can stand up and sit down on a standard chair is recorded

Osteoporosis Assessment Questionnaire (OPAQ)
Patient-completed questionnaire for assessing health-related quality of life. Based on the Arthritis Impact Measurement scales (Meenan, 1992), 80 questions scored on a 5-point scale, then categorised into 4 major health domains: physical function, psychological status, symptoms and social interaction

 

Osteoporosis Screening for Women (ABONE)

Weinstein and Ullery developed a simple screening score for identifying women who should be screened for osteoporosis. The acronym ABONE was applied for the score components (Age Bulk Or Never Estrogen). The authors are from the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo.

Osteoporosis Quality of Life Questionnaire (OQLQ)
Staff-completed disease specific questionnaire measuring health-related quality of life in women suffering chronic back pain due to osteoporosis. Consists of 30 items across five domains (Symptoms, Physical Function, Activities of Daily Living, Emotional Function and Leisure). Each item has is a 7 point scale producing a summary score for each domain

 

Osteoporosis Risk Assesment Instrument (ORIA)

The Osteoporosis Risk Assessment Instrument can be used to select women for bone densitometry. This can help reduce the number of women who are screened so that resources can be used for those at risk. The authors are from several medical institutions in Toronto including the University of Toronto.

Oswestry Disability Index (ODI)
Patient-completed questionnaire which gives a subjective percentage score of level of function (disability) in activities of daily living in those rehabilitating from low back pain. Suitable for the English speaking population only. Questionnaire examines perceived level of disability in 10 everyday activities of daily living

 

Oswestry Low back Pain Disability Questionnaire

Oswestry Low back Pain Disability Questionnaire (in Dutch)

The Oswestry Low Back Pain Disability Questionnaire can be used to assess patients with low back pain by determining its impact on the activities of daily living. It was developed at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital in Oswestry Shropshire England

 

Outcome Prediction Score for Adults with Severe Head Injury

Combes et al developed a prognostic score for identifying patients with severe head injuries who are likely to have an unfavorable outcome. This can identify patients who may require more aggressive therapy. The authors are from CHU de Grenoble in France

 

Oxford Handicap Scale

The Oxford Handicap Scale is a simple means of grading patient handicap. It is a modification of the Rankin scale that has been used for evaluating patients following stroke in England (Oxfordshire). The score can be followed over time to monitor a patient's condition and response to interventions


Oxford Hip Scale
Patient-completed 12-item questionnaire before and after a Total Hip Replacement (THR). It asks about their views on their daily function and pain 

 

Oxford 12 Item Knee Score: Clinimetric Properties

The Oxford 12 Item Knee Score is a patient rated condition specific questionnaire, inquiring about kneepain levels when carrying out specific activities on a 5-point scale. The posssible scores range from 12-60 points.

 

Oxygen Uptake

The Canadian Home Fitness Test was developed as a self-administered test of cardiorespiratory fitness and serobic capacity which could be performed at home. Based on the person's response to the submaximal workload involved a regression equation was developed to predict maximum oxygen consumption
