MISSION AND INVITATION
We would like to invite you to join us in Barcelona, Spain for the 6th Interdisciplinary World Congress on Low Back & Pelvic Pain. Held every three years and attracting 1000 to a maximum of 1500 participants, it is the only truly multidisciplinary conference on low back pain.
This global congress invites practitioners, academics, researchers and policy makers from all continents and from clinical areas as wide ranging as medicine, physiotherpy, chiropractic, biomechanics, osteopathy, manual therapy, exercise therapy, myotherapy, orthopaedic and neuro-surgery and sports medicine. The content of this educational program is determined by rigorous assessment, medical practice, literature and chart review. All programs so far presented have been accreditated by the Regents of the University of California, San Diego Medical School and by all endorsing professional organizations endorsing the programs. This 4-day congress will be held between November 7 – 10, 2007 at the Catalonia Palace of Congresses, Barcelona, Spain. FORMAT AND STRUCTURE OF THE PROGRAM
The Barcelona congress will be breaking away from the traditional mold of looseley related papers. Moderators and speakers chosen for their expertise in selected areas will summarize presentations, clearly delineate opposing views and attempt to reach a consensus. They will assist participants in evaluating the information presented.
Wednesday afternoon through Thursday will be plenary sessions. Friday morning will be organized in cooperation with FC Barcelona Medical Department and will deal with sports medicine. Friday afternoon will be three parallel sessions and Saturday will complete the program with a plenary sessions. Post congress workshops will be organized presented by world wide known top key researchers and speakers from all over the world. The objectives of the congress will be achieved in a four day program, starting Wednesday, November 7. Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday will consist of formal ex cathedra, tightly coordinated lectures. These lectures are intended to present and debate what is reasonably known in the field. Friday, November 9 will start with a program on sports medicine in cooperation with FC Barcelona Medical Department followed in the afternoon by three parallel sessions. A poster exhibition will illustrate worldwide scientific progress in the field. Post congress workshops will be organized and will be only admissable by participants.
