- to search, collect and disseminate available scientific evidence in the physiotherapy domain for physiotherapists, health care workers, patients and financiers of health care

Goals of CEBP
The emphasis is on chronic musculoskeletal disorders that occur frequently, combining research towards etiology, therapy and prognosis. A link with fundamental research will be pursued, or developed, where necessary. Research findings are incorporated into (multi)professional systematic reviews and guidelines, in accordance with the principles of evidence-based medicine. The programme will also use feedback from implementation and benchmarking research, and develop continuous electronic monitoring of relevant patient groups, therewith providing health care workers with up-to-date information about treatment and cost effectiveness.
This goal is pursued through performing the following activities in a multidisciplinary and international settng by:
- Primary research into etiology, prognosis and therapy of musculoskeletal diseases
- Research of co-morbidities influencing chronic disease conditions
- Research into the role of physical activity in chronic disorders and diseases
- Implementation research of guidelines and best practices
- Developing, maintaining and updating Evidence Based Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs) for physiotherapy care
- Developing, maintaining and updating Evidence Based Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs) for multidisciplinary care
- Developing, testing and validating indicator driven physiotherapy and patient care

Facilitating benchmarking of physiotherapy practices and patient data

Maintaining a database with RCT’s, reviews and guidelines relevant to the physiotherapy profession

Maintaining a database with outcome measures (full text) and their clinimetric properties (under development) specific for the physiotherapy domain

Maintaining a database with the top full text physiotherapy articles (as rated by PeDro)

Collecting and providing Evidence Based information to physiotherapists by means of web based applications, courses and publications
